✨ About The Role
- The Planning Director will report to the VP of Merch & Planning and will own the planning function at Birdy Grey.
- This role involves building new planning tools, processes, and a team as the company enters a new phase of growth.
- Responsibilities include driving inventory management and product planning strategies to achieve sales and inventory goals.
- The Director will lead financial product planning functionality, including core product replenishment and sales forecasting.
- They will partner closely with the Finance team to align on seasonal investments and inventory strategies.
- The role requires creating monthly reforecasts based on Finance and Merch guidance.
- The candidate will analyze category performance to identify risks and opportunities.
⚡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have 6-12 years of merchandise planning experience at a large fashion and apparel retailer.
- They should possess at least 2 years of experience in merchandise planning at a fast-growing direct-to-consumer startup.
- A strong foundation in traditional planning expertise is essential, along with experience in high growth and fast-paced environments.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong quantitative, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to gain support for plans and concepts internally and externally.
- The successful individual will have experience leading and managing a team of at least 3 people.
