- The Manager, Protein Procurement will be responsible for sourcing, contracting, and purchasing protein raw materials.
- This role involves collaborating with manufacturing, planning, sales, marketing, and innovation teams to meet material demands.
- The successful candidate will evaluate supplier performance and continuously seek new ideas to improve quality, cost, and availability of supply.
- Responsibilities include managing supplier relationships and conducting formal quarterly business reviews.
- The position requires overseeing purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies related to suppliers.
- The candidate will also develop and execute policies and responsible sourcing practices aligned with Chomps' sustainability objectives.
- The role involves assessing and managing risks across the protein supply base to ensure business continuity.
⚡ Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Meat Science, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in buying and procurement within the CPG Food industry.
- Prior direct experience in protein or livestock sourcing within the meat industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems, with NetSuite being a plus, is essential.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret large amounts of data are crucial for success in this role.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with various teams.
- The candidate should be self-motivated, action-oriented, and committed to delivering efficiency and accuracy.
