Operations Superintendent

Position Summary
Lead operations of the Wet Ones facility in a safe and operationally efficient manner, while maintaining all quality and compliance goals in an FDA regulated environment. Deliver all operational results while valuing people, teamwork and diversity. The position is dayshift based; however, this person is also responsible in communicating direction and is ultimately responsible for the areas third shift personnel and performance.
Specific Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance to Edgewell Personal Care (EPC) safety policies and practices.
- Deliver expected results in TIR, safety audits and safety training.
- Ensure compliance to the EPC quality systems, policies and procedures.
- Continually reduce process variation through the use of process improvement tools such as SPC, Kaizen or Six Sigma. Partner with process engineering and quality using data collection system.
- Champion housekeeping and 5S efforts, ensure ongoing adherence.
- Lead the organizations Tier 2 and support Tier 3 communication process.
- Effectively communicates any changes in schedules, production or procedures to all shifts and teammates.
- Lead associates to deliver expected results in labor cost, line efficiencies, scrap, materials, Indirect -EBR's and all other department costs.
- Leads and/or facilitates Continuous Improvement/Lean projects related to Safety, Quality, Scrap Reduction, and Process Improvements as necessary.
- Review prior week performance with cross functional team to identify areas for continuous improvement and CIP initiatives.
- Provide weekly review of shift cost results, determine root cause of variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct review of weekly trial charges to ensure accuracy.
- Thorough collaboration and effective communication with Supervision across all shifts in the department.
- Lead/Support Failure Investigations and CAPA's, using Root Cause analysis methodology.
- Participate in audits and inspections to address any nonconformities found.
- Leading and/or participating in incident/accident investigations by collecting facts, evidence, generating reports and determining preventive and corrective actions.

- Promotes high level performance of hourly colleagues, including performance appraisals.
- Develops Supervisors and Team Leads through monthly communications and quarterly meeting to explain current performance, metric reviews, areas for opportunities, training options and cross sharing data/trends.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in technical field (Mechanical, Industrial, Process Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a front-line manufacturing leadership role.
- Experience with Lean process improvement tools (SPC, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Proven leadership in an inclusionary, team-based manufacturing setting.
- Good technical understanding or mechanical skills.
- Good interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good presentation, facilitation, leadership, and project management skills.
Working Relationships
- Reports to Wet Ones Plant Manager.
- Works in conjunction with other Superintendent(s), Supervisor(s) and department leaders on shift, to provide direction/leadership in the achievement of established goals. Will work on projects with Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Engineering and/or Operations.
Work Environment
- Ability to work the off-shifts, and be flexible on working hours, as the business deems necessary.
- Personal Protective Equipment as required by OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Fast-paced, high-speed manufacturing environment.
The salary range for this position is $92,000 - $138,000. Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
