Senior Sourcing Manager

Our family of brands is comprised of Schoolhouse, the lighting, home furnishings, and lifestyle brand based in Portland, Oregon; Food52, the community-driven cooking and home company, based in Brooklyn, New York; and Dansk, the heritage home brand founded in 1954.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Sourcing Manager for Food52, Schoolhouse Electric and DANSK Brands to lead and manage the global sourcing and supplier strategy (e.g., Lighting, Furniture, Decor, Hardware, Textiles etc.). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier management, contract negotiation, cost reduction strategies, and global sourcing practices. This role is pivotal in ensuring the company has access to high-quality, cost-effective products while maintaining ethical sourcing and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage a global network of suppliers to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for all categories, aligned with company goals for cost, quality, margin and delivery.
  • New Product Sourcing: Own supplier engagement and initial costing for new product introductions in partnership with PD and Merch teams. Ensure sourcing timelines align with seasonal development calendars to meet key milestone deadlines.
  • Cost Optimization: Lead cost reduction initiatives, including supplier negotiations, value engineering, and total cost of ownership analysis.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with Quality and Product Development teams to ensure suppliers meet product standards and compliance requirements.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to geopolitical events, capacity constraints, and raw material fluctuations.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate product costs, MOQs, lead times, terms, and service agreements to support margin goals, supply chain efficiency, and mitigate contractual risk.
  • New Product & Cross-Functional Support: Partner closely with Product Development, Merchandising, and Operations to align sourcing strategies with new product launch timelines, category margin targets, and supplier capabilities. Ensure supplier inputs (costing, MOQs, lead times) are provided early in development to support decision-making and commercialization.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on supplier KPIs, including cost savings, lead times, service levels, and quality metrics.
  • Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure sourcing practices support company goals for sustainability, ethical labor practices, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5–8+ years of sourcing or procurement experience, preferably in hard goods or durable consumer goods.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Experience with international sourcing, particularly in Asia, preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills required — including pivot tables, v-lookups, cost modeling, and scenario analysis.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills — ability to translate cost drivers, lead time impacts, and supplier metrics into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and logistics.
  • Experience with private label product development.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives in sourcing.
  • C.P.M. or CSCP certification is a plus.
