- The Purchasing & Category Manager will be the primary contact for producers and vendors in the meat, seafood, and produce categories.
- This role involves managing day-to-day purchasing, pricing, promotions, and merchandising for assigned categories.
- The manager will be responsible for financial performance and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) for their categories.
- The position requires collaboration with other teams, including buyers, merchandisers, and marketing, to develop strategies for pricing and promotions.
- The role includes setting up and managing supply agreements while optimizing supply for quality and cost of goods sold (COGS).
⚡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in fresh grocery retail or distribution.
- A strong background in category management and purchasing, especially in the meat, seafood, or produce sectors, is essential.
- Proven leadership experience is required, with at least 2 years in a people management role.
