The FSQA Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of core Food Safety & Quality programs at Home Chef. This role ensures compliance with the SQF (Safe Quality Food) Management System, including the development, execution, and monitoring of the cleaning and sanitation program, master sanitation schedule, food safety and quality plan, and pest control management. The Core Superintendent is also accountable for the Management Review process. The FSQA Superintendent leads by example in driving food safety culture.
Support the design, implementation & verification of the Food Safety & Quality Management System
- Ensure the enforcement and continuous improvement of Home Chef's Food Safety and Quality Systems, designed to meet regulatory, Food Safety and Quality requirements to assure compliance with SQF requirements.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and execution of the cleaning and sanitation program, including the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Lead the Management Review process, ensuring that all critical aspects of the FSQA programs are evaluated and improved as necessary.
- Act as the SQF Practitioner, ensuring compliance with SQF standards and maintaining documentation for audits.
- Assist in the gathering, trending and reporting of metrics that effectively measure and communicate performance.
- Works closely with the plant FSQA teams and cross-functionally in understanding, identifying gaps and proposing changes to processes that affect quality systems compliance.
- Act as a backup to the FSQA Manager during their absence, assuming responsibility for managing quality assurance functions and leading the QA team effectively.
Support Core FSQA Supervisor & Hourly Staff in day to day operations
- Respond and provide solutions to escalations in a 24/7 production environment
- Provide coverage support as needed in a 24/7 production environment
- Work with recruiting teams to adequately staff each shift
- Assist supervisors in personnel coaching as needed
Drive Improvements of Food Safety & Quality Management System
- Identify gaps in programs through internal audit or CAPA
- Provide thorough corrective actions to deviations and gaps, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any non-conformities and drive continuous improvement.
- Deliver training to plant FSQA teams related to program rollout
- Deliver communication with plant and corporate stakeholders regarding new or updated programs and any critical issues
Develop RTH Supervisory Staff
- Lead weekly supervisory meetings
- Perform as subject matter expert to new programs rollouts
- Identify and coach supervisory team on developmental opportunities
- Conduct performance reviews on direct reports

- Completion of a two-year program such as an Associate degree
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in quality assurance, food safety, food distribution, food manufacturing, supply chain, or related field
- Previous experience with GFSI, SQF and USDA audits preferred.
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems
- Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality programs
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter who is results-oriented, resourceful, and takes initiative
- Capable of handling multiple responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to embrace change and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
