QA Technician

Under the close supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the QA Technician is responsible for quality assurance and food safety.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Pre-operational inspection, recordkeeping, monitor CCP, and making sure the safety plan is functioning as intended
• Hold non compliance products, help root cause analysis when it is required
• Receiving inspection and shipping verification
• Read and interpret product specifications
• Quality control data entry
• Record keeping
• Monitor the production areas for Good Manufacturing Practices and compliance. Assist in special projects and ensure that accurate data is collected and recorded.
• Position is required to be onsite 100%
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities:

• HACCP knowledge, experience working at USDA inspection facilities or SQF, BRC certified food facilities
• Verbal and written communication skills in the English language
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of food allergen management program

Education & Experience:

• 2 years experience minimum in food manufacturing establishment or meat processing
• High School Diploma is required for QA Technician role.
• PCQI, HACCP, Certification, or willingness to learn and complete this at MiLa

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Below 40 degrees F in some areas
• Noise level of 40 - 60 DB in some areas
• Frequent prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability and willingness to use a step ladder (3ft) occasionally
• Frequent walking and carrying items
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and 20 pounds occasionally with accommodation

Schedule:

• Full-time, 20-30 hours per week
• Shifts: Part-time work available for both Day (4am to 2:30pm) and Night (2:30pm to 1:00am) shifts!
• Overtime and weekends as assigned
