We're looking for a Production Supervisor to join our Spectacles team!
Must be open to 1st shift (6am-2:30pm) or 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm).
What You'll Do:
In the role of the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all production-related processes, systems, and procedures within the appropriate shift. All while allocating appropriate resources within the fabrication area to ensure that production objectives are met, and business policies are properly adhered to.
Set priorities for the fab personnel and monitor the flow of material through the production area to ensure that production schedules are consistently met.
Maintain a sense of ownership including understanding a sense of urgency and drive to optimize workflows.
Plan and coordinate material in the fabrication area, adjusting work assignments and schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels and respond to fluctuating workloads as needed.
Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals in tandem with the Production Manager. Resolve personnel problems, complaints, and formal grievances at the first level.
Review applicant credentials, interview potential candidates, and make recommendations for hiring.
Understand and promote training initiatives to further growth of the fab personnel as well as personal growth.
Maintain a safe and organized work area by observing and promoting all safety policies, cleanroom protocols, and procedures.
Review priority of outstanding/upcoming orders and clarify specifications as needed.
Determine production processes required and prioritize work based on demand and schedule.
Coordinate the creation of new Work-In-Process (WIP) for the production line and evaluate material at final inspections when necessary.
Plan and schedule routine tasks, using sound judgment when unexpected deviations from standard practice arise.
Schedule and monitor preventative or corrective maintenance and schedule major equipment repair to minimize production downtime on shift, as required.
Prepare and present clear and understandable reports for presentation to interdepartmental peers regarding status, progress, issues, mitigation plans and suggested solutions.
Participate as a key member of the operations team to identify opportunities and present solutions to improve the process flow.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent oral, interpersonal and presentation skills. Self-motivated work style, with the ability to make decisions when direction is limited. Great attention to detail. Neat and organized work practices. Ability to grasp technical details and provide useful feedback to peers on issues and ideas. Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for the majority of a shift, wearing full cleanroom attire.
Minimum qualifications:
2+ years of prior supervisory or lead-role experience. Experience tracking and reporting production metrics.
Preferred qualifications:
AA or higher-level degree. Knowledge of and frequent use of PC tools (Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel or equivalent.) Familiarity with industry standard troubleshooting methods (8D, 5-Why, CAPA, etc.) Experience using a manufacturing execution system (MES) software in a production environment. Prior experience working in a cleanroom environment. Prior experience working with liquid crystal and/or AR/VR equipment.
