Manager, HR Operations & Compliance

Salary Range: $110,000-$125,000

The Manager, HR Operations & Compliance owns process execution and data accuracy across the employee lifecycle. This role manages the Studs recruiting system (Greenhouse) and HRIS (ADP) techstack, executes employee transactions, and ensures Studs' processes and records meet compliance and audit requirements.
They are responsible for maintaining the integrity of all people data, including employee records, HRIS updates, and recruiting system accuracy. The role requires a balance of backend precision and employee-facing responsiveness — ensuring every change, from offer to exit, is processed correctly, documented fully, and reflected across systems. This is a hands-on execution role, best suited for someone who thrives in structured, detail-oriented work and ensures that foundational People operations run smoothly and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day HR systems (ADP, Greenhouse, and related tools) to ensure data accuracy, configuration upkeep, and integration alignment.
- Maintain employee records and audit trails across all stages of the employee lifecycle (e.g., hires, job changes, terminations).
- Validate HR data for payroll, benefits, and Finance alignment.
- Conduct regular system audits and manage corrections in partnership with the Director of People Operations.
- Generate reports and support data requests for compliance, headcount, compensation and workforce planning reviews.
- Execute and process all employee changes (e.g., offers, onboarding, promotions, transfers, offboarding/separations).
- Serve as the operational point of contact for managers and employees regarding employee transactions and HR data and transactions.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding documentation in partnership with the HR Admin
- Ensure timely and accurate handoffs between People, Payroll, Legal & Compliance, and Finance.
- Track and maintain compliance documentation (e.g., I-9s, certifications, training completion).
- Ensure employee files and system data meet audit and regulatory standards.
- Partner with the Director of People Operations and Legal & Compliance teams on compliance reviews, risk mitigation, and audit preparation.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all employee records.
- Collaborate with the Director of People Operations to ensure alignment across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and compliance processes.
- Partner with the Director of Talent on headcount reporting and requisition accuracy in Greenhouse.
- Support annual processes such as benefits renewal and compliance training tracking.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of People processes and data workflows.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of HR operations experience in multi-state environments.
- Hands-on experience with ADP and Greenhouse.
- Strong attention to detail and data management discipline.
- Understanding of HR compliance and audit requirements.
- Skilled in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data validation).
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage high-volume transactional work under tight deadlines.
- Proactivity and comfort with ambiguity with a willingness to adapt to evolving business needs and priorities.
- Comfortable interacting with employees while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
