Operations Analyst

How You Will Make An Impact

We are seeking a highly curious and driven individual to join our team as an Operations Analyst. Reporting to the SVP of Operations, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys delving into complex business challenges, balancing data-driven analysis with hands-on experience, and working in dynamic operational environments. You will spend time in our distribution centers, gaining first-hand knowledge of daily operations, collaborating with DC leadership, and translating these insights into actionable insights that influence measurable outcomes. By deeply understanding our business, you will play a key role in delivering data-driven impact.

In This Role You'll Get To:

  • Build spreadsheet models to reflect real-time operations, iterating as needed to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Spend time in our Distribution Centers to observe and understand operational processes.
  • Work closely with DC leadership to gather insights and translate them into data-driven recommendations.
  • Learn and apply SQL for querying data from our backend systems to support analysis and decision-making.
  • Deliver quick, actionable insights through spreadsheets, with more advanced data analysis to follow as needed.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve and influence operational performance based on findings from hands-on work.
  • Continuously refine processes and models based on feedback, new data, and real-world observations.
  • Bring fresh, actionable insights from your time in the DCs, helping to drive continuous improvement in our complex operations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science or related field.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with a focus on building practical, actionable models.
  • Skilled in using Python or R in spreadsheets for data analysis.
  • Experience using or a willingness to learn SQL to perform data queries.
  • Driven by curiosity, eager to explore complex business processes.
  • Interested in spending time in our distribution centers to understand operations in depth.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work iteratively, refining outputs based on feedback and new learnings.
  • Desire to perform the day-to-day tasks of an hourly team member to fully understand our operations.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with leadership and team members.
  • Available for 25% travel based on business needs to ThredUP distribution centers.

At ThredUp, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $60,000 and $100,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Many ThredUp employees also have the opportunity to own shares of ThredUp stock. ThredUp employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing ThredUp stock if voluntarily participating in ThredUp's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Subject to eligibility requirements, you'll also receive other benefits: Comprehensive medical & dental coverage, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
