Distribution Center Equipment Technician

The Distribution Center Equipment Technician will be responsible for repairing and making improvements to the equipment in our Suwanee distribution center. Technician will also partner with distribution center leadership to keep equipment downtime and errors to a minimum and assist with photo studio modifications and build-outs.

In This Role You'll Get To:

  • Support the operation and preventative maintenance of garment on hanger conveyors, powered roller conveyor and carousel storage systems
  • Perform debug and fault recovery on all material handling systems
  • Troubleshoot automated equipment
  • Fabricate, install, and maintain photography and inspection workstations as required
  • Schedule and perform regular maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on all process equipment
  • Upgrade equipment when necessary to ensure optimal performance
  • Document all machine maintenance activities and communicate with other staff
  • Continuously monitor all operations and processes to prevent and correct equipment malfunctions
  • Work in a team environment
  • Solve complex problems within the automation equipment
  • Lead small automation and system improvement projects
  • Partner with engineering to make system improvements and implement new equipment and processes

What We're Looking For:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in supporting electrical and mechanical systems
  • General mechanical assembly and fabrication experience
  • Basic skills in operation of forklifts and aerial equipment
  • Proficiency with MS Office and/or Google Workspace applications
  • Completes several concurrent tasks in an efficient and accurate manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must know how to read and use schematics relating to process equipment
  • Must be skilled with basic hand and power tools
  • Resolve complex issues with limited support.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment, with limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow up skills
  • Must rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a variety of tasks
  • Must be a team player and communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Understanding of PLC, VFD's, I/O, and associated devices and networks.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned
  • Be able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 25lbs
  • Available for up to 20% travel to ThredUp's distribution centers located across the US.
  • 4 to 6 years experience in previous Industrial or distribution center maintenance
  • Maintenance technology or similar program / degree / certificate
  • Complete understanding of NFPA 70E and OSHA safety practices, and be able to teach others the basic principles.
