Job Description

The Retail Area Manager is a dynamic leader responsible for cultivating the Vuori brand and driving the success of our retail stores in China. This role is the vital link between our strategic vision and the in-store experience, ensuring every location executes at the highest level and is a thriving hub for our community. You will be a coach, a business driver, and a brand storyteller, empowering Store Leaders to deliver unforgettable customer experiences and achieve exceptional business results. A passion for health living, community building, and a deep understanding of the Chinese consumer is essential.

What you'll get to do: Commercial Performance & Business Development

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve and exceed sales, profitability, and KPIs for all stores in North region.
  • Analyze sales reports, market trends, and consumer data to identify opportunities for growth and address performance gaps.
  • Drive the implementation of national campaigns, local marketing, and community initiatives at the store level.
  • Foster relationships with local shopping mall management and partners to maximize store visibility and footfall.
  • Leverage digital platforms (WeChat/WeCom systems) to support online-to-online strategies and drive further sales performance.
  • Be an accurate "ear to the ground" on new Northern China real estate opportunities.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure all stores within the area adhere to company standards for visual merchandising, inventory management, cash handling, and loss prevention.
  • Oversee stock levels and manage inventory efficiently, minimizing shrinkage and ensuring product availability.
  • Manage store opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure premium visual merchandising execution in partnership with the local and global visual merchandising team.

Team Leadership and People Development

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate Store Managers and their teams to achieve high performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and create individual development plans for key staff.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-energy store environment that reflects the company's culture.
  • Manage succession planning to build a strong pipeline of future leaders within the area.

Customer Experience & Brand Standards

  • Champion the delivery of an on-brand, personalized customer service experience that meets the high expectations of Vuori consumers.
  • Serve as the brand guardian, ensuring consistent execution of the brand image, storytelling, and in-store experience across all locations.
  • Monitor and act upon customer feedback from various channels, including Dianping and WeChat.

Reporting & Communication

  • Provide regular, detailed reports to senior management on area performance, market insights, and competitor activities.
  • Act as the key communication link between Head Office and the stores, ensuring clear and effective flow of information in both directions.

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of retail management experience, with at least 3 years in a multi-store Area Manager role.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and achieving business targets.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • In-depth knowledge of the retail landscape, local partners and consumer behavior in region.
  • Exceptional ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data to make informed decisions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt strategies in dynamic and competitive market.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated region.
